Chievo Verona attacker Emmanuele Giaccherini has admitted he has not been surprised in the slightest by the success that former manager Antonio Conte is having at Inter.
“I knew that Conte would immediately transfer over his mentality to Inter. I expected the team to be where they are at right now,” Giaccherini, who worked under Conte at Juventus and whilst he was the Italian national team manager a few years ago, told Italian radio station Radio Sportiva.
34-year-old Giaccherini, who has made seven appearances for Chievo this term in Serie B scoring two goals, then went on to heap further praise upon Conte, who has Inter just one point off top spot in Serie A after a dozen games.
“Conte is a great manager and along with Maurizio Sarri, he is one of the best in the football scene. At the moment, he has made more of a mark at Inter than Sarri has at Juventus.”
