Inter transfer target Denis Zakaria won’t leave Borussia Mönchengladbach in the upcoming January transfer window, his agent Mathieu Beda has confirmed in an interview with German media outlet Sport Bild.
“Denis won’t leave Borussia in the winter, a transfer is 100% excluded. The rumours are disrespectful to the club, the coach and his teammates. Denis fully identifies with Borussia and feels very comfortable at Gladbach.”
The 22-year-old Swiss midfielder has been followed by Inter, Premier League side Arsenal and Spanish side Atletico Madrid for some time now, owing to his strong performances in the Bundesliga this season.
Contracted to the German club until 2022, Zakaria has made 17 appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach so far this season across all competitions and has scored two goals and provided one assist in that time.
He is a regular starter in the squad, who are still top of the Bundesliga after 11 games, sitting four points ahead of RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and SC Freiburg.
