Former Inter sporting director Walter Sabatini, currently the Global Sporting Director for Bologna, discussed his experiences with the Nerazzurri as well as their owners, the Suning group, to gathered reporters at the Social Football Summit, with Italian media outlet FcInterNews noting his words.
“With Suning I did not work. The company were perfect, and I made mistakes. I didn’t have any patience, I wanted to build an Inter a league title winning team immediately while they wanted to study Italian football better first. They were perfectly right. Then there was a complication with Jiangsu Suning, where I was responsible. There were a few small problems, they were worried, because the Chinese are worried like the Italians when they lose. But they were perfect with me, I wasn’t perfect with them. If I went back, I wouldn’t make the same mistakes again, I was very sorry.”
The 64-year-old Italian then touched about free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who Bologna are trying to sign.
“It’s an interpersonal relationship between him and Sinisa Mihajlovic, the club have done nothing and haven’t gone to the window. Ibra said he would decide by the end of December, but it’s their exclusive relationship.”
