SportMediaset journalist Andersinho Marques discussed Inter owned striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa and his performances with Brazilian club Flamengo this season in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva.
“I wonder why not give Gabigol the opportunity to try out at Inter to see if he’s ready or not? Nothing against Sanchez, but if I had to choose, I’d take Gabigol. The Nerazzurri already have him and have nothing to lose.”
Marquez then touched on Gabigol’s incredible performance in the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday, where he scored two goals in the dying minutes of the game to drive the Brazilian club to victory.
“At a certain point I thought that River Plate would win the Libertadores. Then Gabigol scored his 40th goal in an extraordinary season, he’s doing very well. The guy is young and has had an important growth.”
Gabigol has revitalised his career in Brazil with Santos and Flamengo, after a disappointing spell in Europe with Inter and Portuguese side Benfica.
