Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has bigged up the idea of signing Rodrigo de Paul to the rest of the Inter leadership according to a report in the print edition of Il Giorno.

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their midfield department in the upcoming January transfer window and have drawn links to several players in the media in recent weeks and months.

Zanetti is particularly keen to see the club sign compatriot de Paul, who is currently the star man at Inter’s fellow Serie A club Udinese.

It will take in excess of €30 million to take the versatile de Paul away from the Bianconeri club and the report from the Milanese newspaper recalls that the last time Zanetti acted similarly about a player was prior to the signing of Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club.

Lautaro Martinez joined the club in the Summer of 2018 and showed plenty of promise in his debut campaign. He has exploded in his second season with the club having netted nine goals already this season. Reports in the media recently have even linked the youngster with a move to Barcelona which just goes to show that Zanetti has an eye for a player.
