Luca Marchetti: “I Don’t Think Gabigol Will Return To Inter, I Think That Flamengo Will Buy Him”

Noted journalist Luca Marchetti has shared his views on whether he thinks Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa will make a return to Inter.

The striker has starred whilst out on loan with Flamengo and has fired them to Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Serie A glory and with his loan spell up at the end of next month, it remains to be seen what will happen with him.

“I do not think that Gabigol will return to Inter because I do not think that is what he wants. He made the jump to Europe perhaps too soon,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio.

“Inter had already found an agreement with Flamengo but the problem lies with the player, who earns €3.5 million per season at the Nerazzurri, a salary which is so much for a Brazilian team.”

He concluded: “Given his recent performances, everything could be re-discussed. I think that Flamengo will buy him and he will stay there.”
