Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso has confirmed that he will soon hold talks with star man Federico Chiesa over his future with the club.

Relations are believed to have become strained in recent weeks between the Viola club and the 22-year-old Italian international winger and things only strained further after Chiesa seemingly refused to follow manager Vincenzo Montella’s orders to warm-up during this weekend’s match against Hellas Verona.

“Federico knows how important he is to Fiorentina. He knows that on our part, especially on mine, that there has been no criticism of him. But we are a team and the team must play together. I have not talked to him yet, but I will soon,” he remarked in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

Chiesa came through the ranks at the Florence based club and has a contract with them through to the end of the 2021/22 season but it remains to be seen whether he will see that out, especially given there is rumoured interest from both Inter and Juventus.
