Former Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni has shared his thoughts and feelings ahead of the Nerazzurri’s penultimate Champions League group stage match away to Slavia Prague tonight.

“It will be a very, very heated atmosphere. Slavia Prague are a team who have built an undisputed domestic dominance in these past three years and they are growing a lot whilst playing in European football,” he explained in an interview with Turin newspaper Tuttosport.

“Conte knew how good they were before the first leg but the attitude with which Slavia Prague approached that game at San Siro with perhaps surprised everyone.”

He then spoke on Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, who is still searching for his first Champions League goal in a Nerazzurri shirt and what Inter need to do.

“Lukaku will also be decisive in Europe, I am convinced about it. What do Inter need to win in Prague? Inter must attack with quality and do so consistently without losing the ball and giving up counter attacks that can ignite the stadium. They must also create danger in the spaces.”

In conclusion he spoke on Matteo Politano, who he managed whilst in charge of one of Roma’s youth teams a number of years ago.

“Matteo has no natural place in the 3-5-2 system due to his characteristics. However, he can play behind the strikers or at striker and can always make an impact because he has quality.”
