Journalist Enzo Bucchioni has claimed that Inter are closing in on the signing of Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud ahead of the January transfer window.
“Zhang has told Marotta that there will be money available to him for the January transfer window. Inter will sign a midfielder and a striker as they try to get even closer to Juventus,” he wrote in an editorial for TuttoMercatoWeb.
“Marotta has almost completed a deal for Olivier Giroud. Some sources from London say that the deal is in fact already done. The Frenchman, who was a protagonist last season has played just six games this season.
“His contract is expiring and it is worthwhile for the English side to bring in a few million for him in January. Giroud can be the alternative to Lukaku, something Inter do not have at the moment.”
He also touched upon who Inter could bring in in the midfield.
“It is easy for the Nerazzurri to get to Manchester United’s Matic who, like Giroud, will be a free agent in June. Marotta is working on it. Matic and Giroud could bring quality and experience.”
