Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni discussed his story at Inter as well as his work with the squad’s veterans in an interview published in today’s match day programme, with Italian media outlet FcInterNews reporting his words.
“You don’t have to take for granted the fact that you are able to play for a club like Inter, but I don’t feel the pressure, just the adrenaline. For me, treading on the pitch of the Meazza as an Inter player is an incredible thing, like going to training and finding players like Diego Godin or Romelu Lukaku, people who until last year I used to play with on the PlayStation.”
The 20-year-old Italian then spoke about his work with his fellow defenders as well as coach Antonio Conte.
“I’ve worked a lot on technique and on the pitch everyone spurs me on. Godin gives me more experienced advice, on how to mark the man, Skriniar on how to be more aggressive. The coach is tough, he shows me where I’m wrong so I can always improve. The perfect match? Champions League final, obviously I’m wearing Inter’s jersey, 0-0 at 90 minutes, corner kick and I’m the one who scores.”
