Inter midfielder Matias Vecino discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over SPAL in the Serie A in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV, immediately after the final whistle.

“It was a difficult game for us. Maybe we did a little better in the first half, because after their goal there was more of a frenzy and the opponents gained more courage. But in the end, we got the three fundamental points.”

The 28-year-old Uruguayan midfielder then touched on what coach Antonio Conte asks of the squad.

“The coach asks us to know how to suffer, because during the 90 minutes there are times when a team grows in confidence and starts to attack. We must be good at defending, all together, because then in the ups and downs we have the players in front of us to be able to stop the advance.”

Finally, Vecino joked about Conte and the Uruguayan national team.

“Conte is a ‘bad’ man, he could certainly have played for our national team.”
