Inter midfielder Matias Vecino discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over SPAL today in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia.
“We knew it would be a difficult game, the team is learning to suffer in difficult times, there are times when the opposing team attacks, we have to suffer and then restart.”
“With those two up front it’s all easier. Sometimes the game plan doesn’t work, and you have to be proud of the three points, that is the most important thing.”
The Uruguayan midfielder then spoke about the team’s reduced strength.
“We’re suffering from some important absences, we’re not able to recover our strength, but we’re us and we have to give our all for the team and the fans because we play for important points.”
Finally, Vecino spoke about the squad’s mentality and the work of coach Antonio Conte.
“The other years we have lacked a bit of continuity and that’s the mentality the coach is working on. We hope that this overtaking of Juve will last until the end of the season, we have to work with our feet on the ground, but it would be a great success for everyone.”
“Conte told us to try to suffer less and manage the games better but he’s suffering with us because all the teams are trying to play their game and there will always be difficult times.”
