Despite Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta’s words on Arturo Vidal and Dejan Kulusevski, neither player is currently the favourite to be signed for the midfield in January according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

In fact, there is no favourite whatsoever among all the names Inter are believed to be taking a look at with a view to strengthening their midfield department.

Prior to the 2-1 win over SPAL yesterday, Marotta was quizzed on both Vidal and Kulusevski, two players who Inter have been heavily linked with in the media for months now.

Marotta was full of praise for Vidal and admitted that lots of teams would like to sign the experienced Chilean international midfielder, who is believed to have become disgruntled with his current situation at the Blaugrana.

He was a bit more brief when discussing Kulusevski with him simply reminding the reporter who interviewed him of his friendship with Parma’s sporting director Daniele Faggiano.

The report from the Milanese news outlet goes on to explain that there is a meeting planned between the club hierarchy and manager Antonio Conte in order to figure out what to do in the January transfer window.
