In an interview with Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, former Inter player Juan Sebastian Veron has spoken on in-form Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.
“I was struck by the personality he has shown despite being only 22-years-old and then his quality. He does so much and almost everything he does is good,” he said.
“It is practically impossible to compare him to anyone else because he is a mix of players. I see him as someone who moves like Sergio Aguero, has the power of Gabriel Batistuta and the cunningness of Crespo in the box. He is always in the right place at the right time.”
He was then asked how much of an impact he thinks Antonio Conte has had in the Argentine international’s growth this season.
“A manager is always fundamental in the growth of a player. Conte has given him confidence, he made him feel important. Lautaro has become so strong and Conte deserves a lot of credit for it.”
Veron concluded by discussing how Lautaro has changed from his days in Argentina.
“He has become more mature. Serie A is the university of football, it is one of the most difficult leagues to do well in. He is very much ready to start all the time for Argentina.”
