In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia show Sky Calcio Club, noted journalist Matteo Marani has had his say on Inter’s performances so far this season.
“We must underline what Antonio Conte is doing. Yesterday Inter played with nine players they already had last year and this means that Conte is motivating them in a crazy way. Inter have a solidity which they have not had for a long time,” he began.
“10 years on from winning the treble, Inter are trying to build something similar. In years ending in zero, Inter have often had success. They had it in 1930, 1970, 1980 and of course 2010.
“Inter are surprisingly managing to stay up there despite not having the same quality of team as Juventus and maybe even Napoli.”
He concluded: “Antonio Conte gives them something extra. He is someone who knows that he must also manage things off of the field. Inter often win when they have charismatic managers and leaders who decide things on and off the field.”
