In an interview with Italian broadcaster SkySport24, journalist Maurizio Compagnoni shared his thoughts on the partnership that has developed between Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.
“It is clear that it was difficult to expect such an exciting return from both of them, but I was convinced they could do well from the start,” he said.
“We all know Lukaku and there was a reason why Conte wanted him signed at all costs. I remember watching Lautaro last year in a match with SPAL and saying that he was a potential champion but will have to realise that potential by force.
“Lautaro has everything to his game. He has technique, malice and physical strength. When he sees the goal, he is both smart and hungry. All he needed was to find the right partner and Lukaku is just that. Last year the 4-2-3-1 was a problem for him because he could not play.
He concluded: “The absences in the midfield hurt Inter but when they have those two up front it certainly becomes a lot easier.”
