With it looking a very real possibility that San Siro will remain, Turin newspaper Tuttosport have today looked at other cases where two stadiums are in close proximity to one another.

As part of their new €1.2 billion stadium project, the two clubs wanted to completely demolish San Siro and build offices, hotels and commercial spaces among other things on the land.

They have however faced stern opposition to this idea and following a recent meeting with the council, it looks like San Siro will more than likely remain standing, despite the fact it will be right on the door step of the new stadium.

This would however be far from the first instance where two stadiums are right next to one another, the report highlights. In world football, there are in fact nine cases of stadiums within 500 metres of one another.

Nottingham, Barcelona, Belem, Avellaneda, Dundee, Malmo, Helsinki, Tiraspol and Dortmund all have stadiums within that distance of one another.
