Fiorentina and Federico Chiesa are getting closer to finding the right conditions for him to renew his contract with the club by at least another year according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
Relations in recent weeks between the parties have become strained and it has led to intense speculation that Chiesa could move elsewhere with both Inter and Juventus heavily interested in him.
As per the report, Fiorentina will meet with Chiesa’s father, who is also his agent, during the winter break to discuss terms. Chiesa could well have his wages doubled and brought in line with those of Franck Ribery, who is on €4 million net a year at La Viola.
It remains to be seen whether or not a release clause will be in any new contract. Fiorentina would be willing to put one in but only if it is at €100 million or more whilst Chiesa would like it to be a lot lower than that.
