Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez has shared his delight at the form Romelu Lukaku has shown in his first few months at Inter.

“I was happy for him when I found out he was joining Inter. I would say that his move to Inter is helping him feel even more at ease. It is clear to me that he feels good with a great coach like Antonio Conte. For Belgium, this is great news,” he said in an interview with Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

“Romelu is an essential player, selfless and very precious player for the team. His performances in Serie A and in the Champions League are certainly not surprising to those of us who know him well.

“I think that going to play in Italy was a good choice for him. The last six months for him in England were not good but now he is back at the centre of a project and is happy.”
