Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling will come up against one another for the first time tomorrow night following their Summer departures from Manchester United to Inter and Roma respectively, a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport details.
The duo spent several years together with the Premier League club but both moved on to pastures new this past Summer and seem to have really benefited from the change of scenery.
Lukaku has been in fine form in front of goal having scored 11 goals off of just 21 shots on goal this season whilst Smalling appears to have got himself back on track after his form in his final few months at United was really poor.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Smalling could well prove to be one of the toughest defenders that Lukaku has come up against since his move to the Nerazzurri.
