Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner discussed the Blaugrana’s upcoming Champions League clash against Inter in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
“In the first leg, Inter impressed me. They’re a very different team from the one we’ve seen in recent years, back in the running of the top European teams. Today we can talk about a great Inter again.”
Cardoner then touched on two Barcelona players that Inter have been linked with, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic.
“If they don’t play so much it’s because, as our coach has explained several times, we have a certain busyness in midfield. I don’t have to say how they would play in other teams. Having said that, we’re pleased that our players are associated with important clubs like Inter and Juve, because that means we have a great squad.”
Finally, Cardoner discussed the rumours that the Blaugrana are interested in Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.
“I never talk about players who don’t belong to our team because I respect their clubs. Is there a lot of talk about him? Well, it’s important that we talk about our transfer moves, but I must also say that if all the players whose names I read in the newspapers every day arrived, we’d need five teams to get them to play.”
