Fiorentina are hoping to sign Inter forward Matteo Politano in the upcoming January transfer window, even if the player himself doesn’t want to leave, according to a report from Italian media outlet Gianlucadimarzio.com today.
The report details how the Florence based club are hoping that due to his lack of playing time at the Nerazzurri under coach Antonino Conte, that they can sign him with more ease in the January transfer window, despite the Nerazzurri’s already limited attacking options. Fiorentina’s management believe that Politano would be the perfect fit for Vincenzo Montella’s 4-3-3 tactical system.
However, the 26-year-old Italian forward doesn’t want to leave Inter, the report continues, and would rather stay and fight for more regular playing time. So far this season Politano has made 12 appearances for Inter but has failed to play a full 90 minutes once this season. He hasn’t scored a goal or provided an assist, but is still hoping to win over Conte’s trust.
