Lionel Messi could start from the substitutes bench for Barcelona in tomorrow night’s Champions League match away to Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Barcelona have two important games coming up in the league against Real Sociedad and arch-rivals Real Madrid coming up and with them already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition, they may wish to not risk Messi and several others.
The past two times Barcelona have already been qualified for the knockout stages the Balon D’or winner has began the matches on the bench and come on around the hour mark.
The Milan based newspaper goes on to state that Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde could change almost the entire team for the match.
