Inter could move for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso in the fast approaching January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Spaniard has fallen right out-of-favour with the Premier League club and has not been included in the squad for the blues past six matches.

With Chelsea’s transfer ban being lifted, the London based club could be far more open to doing business on the outgoing front given they will be able to bring in some replacements and this will only serve to benefit Inter if they do go in for Alonso.

28-year-old Alonso, who can play at left back or left wing back, is no stranger to Serie A having previously represented Fiorentina prior to a €27 million move to Chelsea back in 2016.

This season Alonso has made 13 appearances across all competitions. In 969 minutes on the park, he has contributed one goal and tallied two assists.
