World renowned journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed Barcelona’s interest in signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter.

“The €111 million release clause in his contract is affordable. It is true that Barcelona are following him. It is up to Inter to take it out the contract or increase it in agreement with the player and his agent, who was in Milan yesterday, to prevent Barcelona and Manchester City coming in for him in the Summer,” he said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport 24.

The Blaugrana are looking to find themselves a long term replacement for veteran striker Luis Suarez and reports in Spain have heavily linked them with a move for the 22-year-old Argentine, who is now in his second year with Inter following a circa €20 million transfer from Racing Club.

This season Lautaro has netted 13 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. In 1579 minutes on the park, he has also contributed four assists.
