Napoli are set to meet with Hellas Verona in the coming days to hold talks over midfielder Sofyan Ambrabat according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.

The Partenopei have arranged the meeting with the Gialloblu in an attempt to get ahead of both Inter and Fiorentina in the race to sign the Moroccan international, who is primarily a defensive midfielder but also capable of playing as a traditional central midfielder.

Whilst Napoli, or Inter or Fiorentina for that matter, could do a deal with Hellas Verona in January, Amrabat will not be able to transfer to them until the end of the season due to having already played for two clubs this season.

The 23-year-old has been ever present since joining Hellas Verona appearing in all 15 of their league games to date. He also played once for Club Brugge this season. In a total of 1367 minutes on the field, he has failed to contribute any goals or assists.
