Antonio Conte has set his sights on winning the Serie A title following Inter’s elimination from the Champions League earlier on this week according to a report in today’s print edition.
The management are hopeful of the team picking up some silverware this season and see the Europa League and Coppa Italia as competitions that are winnable but Conte is focused in on Serie A.
The former Italian national team manager wants several reinforcements brought in in the upcoming January transfer window to make things that bit easier for him and the team, which is severely depleted at the moment due to injuries.
Conte wants a new full back and central midfielder and could also demand a new striker but that all depends on how Alexis Sanchez recovers and if Matteo Politano stays or goes.
Marcos Alonso appears to be the favourite for full back. The Spaniard is currently on the books of Chelsea, who want at least €25 million for him but a loan move could be possible.
Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul is the favourite name for the midfield and finding an agreement with Udinese should not be too difficult. Conte would also like Arturo Vidal but Barcelona do not wish to let him go on loan.
