Inter wish to sign Marcos Alonso and Dejan Kulusevski to strengthen the defence and midfield respectively according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Alonso is far from first choice under Frank Lampard and despite this, Chelsea are understood to want no less than €35 million for him.
Inter have no interest in paying such a high sum and would instead prefer to sign the Spaniard on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy.
As for Kulusevski, the Swede’s parent club Atalanta value him at €40 million but Parma will need to be convinced to cancel his loan at the mid-way point of the season.
The idea of signing a striker has cooled in recent weeks but in the event that Matteo Politano departs, with several Serie A clubs said to be interested, then Inter could look to add a striker and could go in for Alonso’s Chelsea teammate Olivier Giroud.
