Inter management have decided that they will bring in a left wing back and a central midfielder in the January transfer window according to a report from Milanese newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The Nerazzurri have struggled with injuries in both of these positions in recent weeks and as a result the club are keen to strengthen there.

For left wing back, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso is the player that Inter have their eyes on. The Spaniard has fallen out-of-favour at the blues under Frank Lampard and could well find himself re-united with the man who took him to Stamford Bridge in Antonio Conte if he joins Inter.

As for the midfield, Rodrigo de Paul is Inter management’s current favourite. The Argentine midfielder is currently on the books of Udinese and is a very versatile player capable of covering multiple roles in midfield and even in attack if so required.

The report goes on to state that Inter also have an interest in Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal. Inter are unwilling to meet the Blaugrana’s lofty demands for the ageing Chilean but would be open to taking him on an 18 month loan deal.
