Inter have dropped their interest in signing Alessandro Florenzi from Roma in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Florenzi has not been playing regularly under Paulo Fonseca this season at the Giallorossi and is well aware that he needs to be playing more often if he wishes to be part of Roberto Mancini’s squad for this coming Summer’s European Championship.
The 28-year-old has no interest in moving abroad and only wishes to move elsewhere in Italy on a loan basis. Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Cagliari are all interested in signing him but his wages could present a potential stumbling block to each of them.
Inter had shown an interest in him as they looked to add another full back to their ranks but they now appear to have set their sights on signing Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso instead, who is reportedly valued at €35 million.
