With Franck Ribery facing some time out on the sidelines, Fiorentina have ignited an interest in signing Matteo Politano from Inter in January according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ribery has been struggling with an ankle injury in recent weeks and the Florence based club confirmed yesterday that he is to go under the knife in order to correct the issue. He is expected to miss at least the next eight or nine games.
Politano has fallen out-of-favour at Inter this season and has managed just two starts all season. The 26-year-old has only been on the pitch for 299 minutes and has failed to make any goal contributions in that time.
Aside from Politano, the report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that La Viola are also weighing up a move for Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi. The 25-year-old has eight goals and two assists in 12 appearances this season.
