Gianfelice Facchetti, the son of Inter legend Giacinto, has revealed that Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta could have arrived at Inter far sooner than last year.
“My father’s friend Adelio Moro recently told me that my father wanted to bring Marotta to Inter when he was at Atalanta,” he admitted in an interview with Milanese news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.
Facchetti then proceeded to praise the Inter management for the work they have carried out this season.
“This year has been very positive, the club management have already done good things and in Alessandro Antonello, Inter have found a figure that they had been missing.
“Inter faced some difficult situations but have dealt with them well. I expected the management’s work to continue as they look to protect what the team are doing on the park. I think they will try to do something in the transfer window in order to stay on top.”
