Inter CEO Beppe Marotta told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia moments ago that the Nerazzurri cannot spend another minute dwelling on being disappointed following their elimination from the Champions League.

“The same things do not happen every year, the bitterness after the elimination in the Champions League is great but we faced this experience with our heads held high. We gave everyone everything we had backed up by our fans.”

“The elimination is a negative step that needs to be evaluated, but there is something positive to draw from it. The process of our gradual growth as the new cycle grows in a logical manner. We have to put the eliminayion behind us and focus on the match tonight.”

“Everything can be improved, it is normal that we may feel some regret. But we have a clear concience as the team gave their all. The oppomemts were stronger, Barcelona were better and won. Our first game against Slavia coincided with the beginning of the season where we had some difficulties. You have to take something positive even from the difficult experiences you have. As a whole, this was an important experience.”

In conclusion Marotta cooled down talks that Inter would be active in the upcoming transfer window in January.

“It is difficult to find the elements to improve the quality of the squad. This transfer window is dry of solutions, it is not easy to achieve the goals that are easily attained in the summer. We are looking around to improve the squad.”
