Former Serie A referee Graziano Cesari discussed a foul on Inter striker Lautaro Martinez by Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski in last night’s 1-1 draw between the two clubs, when speaking on Italian talk show Tiki Taka.
“The referee was very upset about Lautaro and then a few minutes later he warned him too. The Fiorentina goalkeeper missed the timing of the challenge.”
“Mariani gives a foul against the Inter striker instead of the foul by the goalkeeper. VAR couldn’t intervene but the referee is in front of the player and sees that he doesn’t commit any kind of foul. It’s clear that it’s the Fiorentina goalkeeper who lands on Lautaro.”
A few minutes after that foul, the 22-year-old Argentine forward was again involved in an incident with Drągowski, with the striker’s foot clashing with the 22-year-old Polish shot stoppers head, causing him to require treatment.
The foul earnt Lautaro a yellow card, disqualifying him from next week’s clash against Genoa.
