Wanda Nara Icardi: “When Joining PSG Mauro Icardi Joined A Better & More Important Team Than Inter”

Wanda Icardi, the wife, and agent, of Inter owned Mauro Icardi, has spoken on her client’s Summer tranfer window loan move to Paris Saint Germain.

“I don’t know who chased after him. His move away is something that has went well for everyone. He has joined a better and more important team. Everyone knows that PSG is one of the most important clubs in the world,” she told Italian television show #CR4 – La Repubblica delle Donne.

“I have wonderful memories of the San Siro and the Interisti. And as I always say, the real Interisti know that we have always been on the team’s side and this choice to go to Paris was also made so as to not betray the Nerazzurri. We left each other without betrayal, Mauro went to a club that he couldn’t say no to and even for Inter it went well.”

She then dismissed the idea that the 26-year-old Argentine international could end up at Juventus.

“No, no. Mauro’s present is in Paris, he is very well there and is scoring some crazy goals as he always has done. The only thing that interests me is his happiness and he is very happy at PSG.”

She also spoke on the scepticism that still surrounds her and other women’s involvement in men’s football.

“We must change this. In 2020 we can’t hear these things said about women, we are all the same and we all think the same way. We women are often undervalued but it’s time for change.”

In conclusion, she spoke on her relationship, or rather lack of one, with ex-husband Maxi Lopez, her marriage with Mauro and her children.

“First of all, I repeat, I left Maxi. I returned to Argentina and only then did I start a love story with Mauro. I had three small children and it was not easy to go back to Argentina and start all over again.

“For me, having found a person like Mauro, who was very young, was important: it wasn’t a choice just for me, I chose him because he already loved my children.

“I educate my children trying above all to transmit their personalities: I also have a child who is a Juventus fan, the youngest. And maybe saying it or putting a photo up of it would have been inconvenient.

“My eldest one, however, has always been Inter, even before he met Mauro. I can’t tell a child who goes to school in Milan not to wear a shirt so as not to annoy Maxi. I think Maxi should be proud that I chose a person who loves our children.”
