SPAL president Walter Mattioli has shared his belief that Andrea Petagna wishes to stay with the club amid links to several other clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
24-year-old Petagna has drawn links to both Inter and Roma with both sides seemingly wanting to strengthen their attack in January.
“My intention is to keep the ones who want to stay, and he seems like he wants to stay. If there are any clubs who are trying to contact him, he will tell me. In this case, there are other contractual technicalities that will kick in, but I find the boy at ease,” he told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
“I want the team to remain compact and I do not want anyone to stay here unwillingly. Those who do not want to fight, can raise their hand and leave.”
This season the former Atalanta striker has made 17 appearances across all competitions. In 1457 minutes on the field, he has scored five goals and provided one assist.
