In an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio, former Inter defender Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Colonnese has shared his views on Corriere dello Sport’s recent letter on Inter manager Antonio Conte.
“Exasperating certain situations is not good. The truth is always in the middle, this letter was offensive. We must talk about football, here in Italy the tones are exasperated when speaking not about football. We are no longer talking about technical aspects. I would like for Conte to be judged only on football related issues, not anything else,” he said.
Following the publication of the letter, Inter took a strong stance against the Roman newspaper by choosing to cancel the pre-match press conference ahead of last Sunday’s match against Fiorentina and called for respect to be shown.
Corriere dello Sport find themselves in hot water at the moment with them coming under intense scrutiny for their decision to run with the headline ‘Black Friday’ for an article on Inter’s Romelu Lukaku and Roma’s Chris Smalling.
