Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim has confirmed that a deal has been agreed with Inter over the permanent transfer of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa for a few months now.
“Will Gabigol remain? I can answer this for you now. As has already been reported several times, Flamengo has been in contact with Inter for a long time. About three months ago, if I am not mistaken, we reached an agreement with Inter,” he explained in an interview with Brazilian broadcaster Fox Sports.
“Once we reached an agreement with Inter, we tried to speak with Gabigol and his agent. At that moment, he told us he preferred to talk about it at the end of the season. We didn’t see any problems in this because I think he wanted to stay focused on the competitions we had to play in.
He concluded: “For those who know Gabigol closely, he is a player with a very high level of self-esteem. He is very convinced in his own ability, which is very important.”
