Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini spoke about the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 win over Genoa in the Serie A tonight in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV moments after the final whistle.
“Apparently, I’m a curse to Genoa, it’s a peculiar coincidence. Sorry for Genoa. I’m happy for my condition, because until a week ago I couldn’t walk well.”
“Together with the medical staff I managed to get back into shape, because there was a bit of an emergency, and it went well.”
The 25-year-old Italian then discussed the preparations for tonight’s win as well as his partnership with striker Romelu Lukaku.
“We prepared our movements on the pitch during the week, depending on how the opponents would be deployed. Lukaku told me in the pre-game to support him, so that’s how the second goal happened.”
Gagliardini hadn’t appeared in the Nerazzurri’s last three games across all competitions, due to arch pain, but impressed tonight against Genoa on his return. He scored a goal and provided an assist.
