Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito discussed the Nerazzurri’s impressive 4-0 win over Genoa in the Serie A after the match in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV.
“This has been a fantastic week for me, but at the same time a bit difficult because I was anxious. I won’t deny that I didn’t sleep yesterday.”
“I’ve been thinking about this match all night. I have to thank the team, the coach, the club. Romelu, above all, for the goal. They’re all fantastic people, before being fantastic players. For me this is a beautiful emotion.”
He then spoke about his relationship with Inter striker Romelu Lukaku.
“I tried to impress Romelu, who is a fantastic person, with a lot of experience and a difficult background, we all know that. Yesterday in training he saw me a bit anxious, he calmed me down and told me to use my head.”
“I’m happy with the team’s win, the confidence of the coach and the club, who are behind me every day. Then I’m happy with the goal and the records.”
Finally, Esposito spoke about the squad’s mentality and his wishes for 2020.
“We work all week to get to the game in the best possible way. We always want to win, that’s the mentality that the coach has given us. We have to listen to him. My wish for 2020? Continue to work in this way.”
