In an interview with Inter TV, former Inter defender Riccardo Ferri has shared his views on how he thinks this year as a whole has went for the club.
“I think this year can be seen as a positive one because nobody, and not even the most positive of people, could have though that already at this point of the season that Inter could be so competitive in the league. Inter made a dignified attempt in the Champions League and now have the Europa League ahead of them,” he said.
“The project was only born six-months ago and there has been many changes but the team immediately made an impact. The new signings have all done well but injuries have stunted the progess of this team. In the immediate future, there will be some long-awaited returns such as Sensi, Barella and Sanchez, who were quality signings.”
Next he was asked how he thinks Inter can further improve.
“Inter could show more personality when facing some games. I am of the opinion that many small games are played during the game itself.
“I am convinced that the club and Conte have dug a furrow and that is the path to follow, even if there may be some difficulties.
“The transfer market will help Inter add depth and increase their quality and this will enable them to rotate more. I think Inter can achieve important goals.”
