New Red Star Belgrade manager Dejan Stankovic has put an end to rumours that he could sign former Inter teammate Mario Balotelli in the upcoming January transfer window.
“Mario Balotelli in Belgrade? It would be nice, but it will not happen,” he made clear in an interview on Serbian television earlier on today.
Stankovic, who gave up his youth coaching role at Inter to take up the position at the club where it all began for him, then went on to confirm that he is bringing in former Inter coach Federico Pannoncini.
“I worked with him back in 2012 when Andrea Stramaccioni was in charge. I also had the opportunity to work with him at Udinese.
“He has traveled the world and has a lot of experience. Today we will define the details of his contract and I am happy that I will have him as part of my coaching team.”
