Heracles Almelo striker Cyriel Dessers has sang the praises of Inter’s in-form striker and compatriot Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku joined Inter in a club record €65 million transfer from Manchester United this past Summer and has went on to score 14 goals in his first 22 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

“I do not think we realise just how great Romelu Lukaku is. He really is a hero,” he stressed in an interview with Belgian newspaper Het Niuewsblad.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 15 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season, then spoke on just how hard it is to get into the Belgian national team.

“I am not much younger than the attackers already in the national team. Both Lukaku and Michy Batshuayi are only a year older than I am. Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard are both also capable of playing up front and many underestimate Christian Benteke, who plays in the Premier League.”
