Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has downplayed links in the media linking his side with a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
“I am getting linked with some good players. I do not know anything about it to be honest, but if someone knows something give them my number. It is the first I have heard of this – good player though,” he said following their 1-0 win over Kilmarnock, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
Reports in the French media in recent days have suggested Gerrard’s side have made contact with the veteran Frenchman, who has fallen out of favour at the Premier League side this season.
Giroud, who has also drawn links to Inter, is reportedly keen to move on from the Stamford Bridge club in January due to being limited to just seven appearances this season as he wishes to play regularly to stand a chance of being included in France’s squad for EURO 2020.
