The future of Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan is uncertain, due to Cagliari’s inability to afford the player, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Sardinian club’s president Tommaso Giulini has touched on the difficulty of retaining the player after the end of his loan spell, saying: “We will hardly be able to keep him in Cagliari next year.” The Rossoblu don’t have the necessary funds available to permanently secure his signature, if the Nerazzurri decide to cash in on the Belgian midfielder and sell him at the end of this season.

Therefore, the report continues, Inter will either have to find a new club interested in purchasing the 31-year-old, or continue negotiations with Cagliari to see what can be done. The negotiations will also depend on how this season ends, as if the Sardinian club qualify for a European competition next season, the player would be incredibly useful due to his international experience and technical abilities.
