Inter returned to the training pitch at Appiano Gentile today, with two injured stars returning to squad training, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia.

The report details how the Nerazzurri took part in a 90-minute training session today, in order to begin preparations for the Milanese side’s league clash against Napoli on 6th January. Good news for coach Antonio Conte, as both Alexis Sanchez and Nicolo Barella joined the squad’s training session.

The duo initially worked with the squad, the report continues, in particular warming up before being a part of half the main session. The club are keen to be careful with the pair, to avoid reintroducing any potential injuries. Both are expected to be in the match day squad for the Napoli clash.

Only one of the main squad worked separately today, the report adds. 30-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah trained separately today, with his knee problems still providing a cause for concern for the Nerazzurri’s medical staff. Whilst his situation isn’t too problematic, the club are remaining cautious.
