Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has maintained that it was the right decision to let Romelu Lukaku leave the club this past Summer.
Lukaku left the Premier League club after two seasons and joined Inter in a club record €65 million transfer deal.
United were heavily criticised for failing to replace him after his departure but Solskjaer believes those already at the club have stepped up and filled the void.
“We always believed that Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were going to score goals. Mason Greenwood has filled a big void, he has chipped in with goals,” he said in the press conference ahead of the match against Arsenal, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“I’m not worried about goals from the centre forwards. Mason has eight now, Marcus and Anthony have quite a few.
“Romelu is a good striker and he will always score goals but it was time for him to move on. We didn’t find the right replacement outside of our club – we had Mason.”
