Arsenal manager Mikael Arteta has revealed he is not thinking about the possibility of club captain and key player Pierre Emerick Aubameyang leaving during the course of the transfer window.
The Gabonese international striker is understood to want to leave the Premier League outfit in search of regular Champions League football.
“I do not even think about that possibility [the possibility that he leaves the club in January] with Auba, I want him here,” Arteta said ahead of the Gunners upcoming FA Cup clash with Championship side Leeds United, as quoted by The Daily Mail.
Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal back in January 2018 from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, is understood to have rejected new contract talks with the club, who could be forced into selling him this Summer if things do not change.
The reason for this is because come the Summer he will have just a year left on his deal and then in January he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club.
In recent days, reports have linked both Inter and Barcelona with making a move for the 30-year-old, who has netted 15 goals this term.
