Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa is poised to meet with Flamengo management to discuss a potential future with the club according to a report from Minha Torcida.

In the coming days the 23-year-old striker will meet with officials from the Rio de Janeiro based club having now returned to the area following his end of season holiday in the Brazilian region of Bahia.

Flamengo’s vice-president Marcos Braz will try his utmost to convince Gabigol to accept a permanent switch to the Rubronegro club following a highly successful loan spell with them in 2019.

In 58 appearances across all competitions, Gabigol, who joined Inter back in 2016 for around €30 million, scored 43 goals and provided 13 assists and played a pivotal role in them winning the Brazilian league title and Copa Libertadores.

Flamengo, who have offered Inter €16 million for him, hope to be able to sign him to a four year contract but his wage demands continue to prove to be an obstacle for them.
