Napoli will have to do without both Kalidou Koulibaly and Nikola Maksimovic for their upcoming match against Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Koulibaly sustained a muscle injury during Napoli’s match against Parma and has been training separately to the rest of his teammates and has been following a personalised training scheduled to help aid him in his recovery.

The 28-year-old Senegalese international centre back’s absence will come as a big boost to Inter given Koulibaly is widely regarded as one of, if not, the best defenders across the whole of Serie A.

Maksimovic is also following a personalised training schedule and will quite simply not be able to recover in time to take on Inter on Monday night at the Stadio San Paolo.

The report from the Milanese newspaper goes on to state that attacker Dries Mertens is also doubtful to take on the Nerazzurri but it is not out of the equation that he could recover.
